What is an IT Consultant?

A few of the largest global it companies are Atos it solutions, Capgemini, and Accenture. What Skills Do I Need?
There are a handful of key skills that make for a successful professional. Make sure you know your way around cloud technology, service cloud, its services providers, managed service providers, and its vital technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and SQL. If you’re interviewing with a big company then don’t forget that they need people who can manage teams; focus on how your management experience has prepared you for these types of situations. And remember — if you don’t have any previous work experience under your belt yet, highlight something else about yourself that makes you worthy of an interview such as an innovative programming class or hobby project.
ICloud & BI knowledge is added advantage
As it global consultant, you will be in touch with many international organizations. In order to create a more natural and organic conversation on these subjects, you need to understand how these technologies work. This will allow you to add value to your conversation from a service perspective. In addition, as we discussed previously, it is important that you have insight into how technology can be used for creative purposes (or even for negative purposes) given that you might encounter situations where your client’s security could be compromised via cyber threat or data breach. Having some understanding of cloud computing and BI tools would help here as well.
Preparation Tips
Before you head into your interview, it’s important to do your homework. Read up on recent technology trends, conduct practice interviews with friends, and think of questions you can ask when you get there. Knowing what questions might be thrown at you will give you a leg up in answering them and will make for a much more professional impression overall. The best companies are known for having tough hiring standards, so don’t just rely on being a great coder as your only tool for success. For example, try searching for real-life scenarios where you may have had to create code from scratch or solve an issue out of scope; such scenarios will help communicate your passion and enthusiasm to recruiters and hiring managers alike.
Mock Interviews
Preparation is key. Ask a friend or classmate who has experience in your industry or field for mock interviews. They can help you perfect your elevator pitch, practice difficult questions and get you ready for whatever your interview may entail. Have them video record your mock interviews so you can review yourself and improve for future meetings. This type of preparation will take some of the stress out of an interview, giving you more confidence going into a real-life meeting with an employer, which shows you’re eager and ready to succeed.
